Engagement Photos: The Frostbite Behind the Photos

Despite all the excitement in these photos, it was about 20 degrees that morning. We have a bit of a problem with our schedules: they never line up. We had a second problem: our groupon for Save the Dates was expiring in one week. We decided to solve both these problems by taking engagement photos as immediately as our schedules would allow which meant 8 am on a Sunday morning. Did we mention it was 20 degrees? Our photographer (my roommate) said that ideal light would be either 8 am or 4 pm. Little did we know that one of those options also came without feeling in our fingers and toes. Regardless, we were determined to get good photos (in as little time as possible). The one you see pictured is one of the many in which Kyle’s jacket was around me. No, it was not intended to be adorable; I demanded he put it on me because I had stopped feeling my limbs. Of course, despite mistakes Kyle made in the past (like not giving his prom date his jacket when she claimed she was cold), he willingly complied. He must love me or something.

Moral of the story? Don’t schedule engagement pictures without checking the weather first.
