I just realized it’s dead week. Call it awakening or call it what you will. I do not recall dead week being this..stress free? No seriously, this isn’t some satirical piece and I’m not on drugs. I truly remember dead week being filled with unbearable stress, but this doesn’t describe my week.
So what’s changed? Was it having a fiancee? No. Did the university change dead week policies? No, I don’t think so. I believe what’s changed is my attitude toward my stressors.
A conversation a few weeks ago led me to the realization that everything in my life that causes me stress is really a blessing. It reminds me of James 1, “consider it all joy my brothers when trials and tribulations come your way”(KDV). I wouldn’t say I have compete understanding of this philosophy and that I haven’t perfected by any means. But, I definitely look forward to challenges because I know the Lord has given them to me to grow me.
As I sit here at the Starbucks, I meditate on how God has blessed me and his eternal goodness. Sometimes, his grace is OVERWHELMING. What’s causing you stress? Is it truly blessings or something else? Look to Him and pursue his guidance. Much love.

In my opinion, this would be the most stressful car to drive because of the fear of being hit or hitting something. Thankfully, I’m blessed with a yellow Toyota Yaris affectionately named Lemon-Berry. Thanks for sticking around.
