Right before Kyle left for the summer we went to The Flying Saucer. I ordered Son of a Peach beer by RJ Rockers. I have been dreaming about being reunited with this beer for weeks. I finally got a chance to go to Total Wine to buy a pack of this amazing beer. Unfortunately, they did not have it in stock, but they did have another peach beer by RJ Rockers, Peachy King. I was so excited to get home and crack one open. You can, then, imagine my disappointment when I tried it and absolutely hated it.
So, what do you do when you buy an expensive beer that you hate? BEER BREAD!
I actually learned a lot about baking bread, too. The more you sift the flour, the less dense your bread becomes. I only shift mine once and I think it would have have been better if I had sifted it through twice. It didn’t taste bad; I just like airier bread. Also, with the melted butter, you have two options: mix it into the dough or pour it on top. If you pour it on top, you create a crustier bread. My roommate loved the crusty outside, but I’m undecided. Maybe I’ll use the remaining beers of disappointment to test different ways to make the bread.
